So here’s the thing… I’m not a spontaneous person. At all.
I like plans. I like knowing what I’m doing and when I’m doing it. I’m not exactly outgoing either, especially when it comes to new people or new situations.
But apparently, if it involves a racket or paddle… I am spontaneous.
Like this one time I had just finished my tennis coaching session. I was tired, sweaty, and already thinking about going home (well, not really. One hour of Tennis is never enough for me, haha). Then my brother reminded me there was another pickleball open play happening that night and asked if I wanted to join. I said yes!

So yeah, I was on the court, randomly paired with someone I’d never met and played with before (Hi, Say!) and we actually won the match! Final score? 14–9.
It made me realize something funny about myself: I’m not into random plans in life, but when it comes to tennis or pickleball? I’m all in. I’ll show up. I’ll join. I’ll play. And I’ll love every minute of it.
Maybe this is a little reminder to myself: I don’t have to be spontaneous everywhere. But it’s nice to know I can be when it counts. Tennis and Pickleball bring out a different side of me. A side that’s confident, flexible, and open to the unknown. Maybe I’m not spontaneous in most areas of life, but when I’ve got a racket or paddle in hand, I feel free to be.
